2. Exams: Third attempt, joker/free attempt, withdrawal

Must the third attempt be an oral exam?

Yes, according to the SPO, the third attempt for modules of the FIN exam must be taken orally.

Can I use the joker/free attempt for a module that I have failed for the third time?

No. Withdrawal is only possible once, and only from an exam that has not yet been definitively failed a third time.

Is there a joker/free attempt option or free attempt available for Master's degree programs?

Yes. The Master's degree programs CV, INF, IngINF and WIF also have a one-time free attempt since the amendment to the statutes on June 29, 2020.

How can I exercise my right to permanently drop a failed exam (all Bachelor's degrees as well as DKE and DE)?

A short, informal application is sufficient; the wording "one-time final withdrawal from the examination" is required.

Am I obligated to retake an exam that I have already withdrawn from?

Only if a previous attempt has already been unsuccessful.
